Sodium Fluoride finds most common use for medical applications including dental caries, osteoporosis, and for medical imaging as well. It can industrially be produced by neutralizing hydrofluoric acid and is known to have ability to prevent dental caries. This compound has chemical formula NaF with molar mass of 41.988 g/moil and density of 2.558 g/cm3. It is also added to municipal water to maintain optimum fluoride level and dental health of consumers. Sodium Fluoride has white to greenish powdery appearance with high melting point of 993 degrees Celsius and boiling point of 1704 C. It shows good solubility in water and insolubility in alcohol & acetone.
