Ammonium Formate is colorless crystalline solid which is hygroscopic in nature and has chemical formula CH5NO2 with molar mass of 63.06 g/mol. It is known to be completely water soluble in nature and finds application for various industrial processes including HPLC. This compound is ammonium salt of formic acid which is used as buffer in different applications. It has melting & boiling points of 116 & 180 degrees Celsius respectively. Ammonium Formate also shows solubility in alcohol & liquid ammonia with slightly ammonic odor. It is known to have ability to donate 1 and accept 2 hydrogen bonds during a chemical reaction.
